The 2nd Annual Weed Smackdown was a huge success!!!
Over 1,420 pounds of invasive plants were removed from downtown Palmer!
We had close to 75 volunteers come out and help us pull Bird Vetch, White Sweetclover, Perennial Sowthistle, Toadflax and many other weeds from around town!!
Thanks again to all of the great sponsors and volunteers and we hope to see you all again next year!!
Check out KSKA’s Ellen Lockyer’s Story on the Smackdown from APRN: Group getting to the root of non-native plant invasion
We have moved!
Come check out our new location @ 101 W. Arctic Ave- right behind Pizza Delphi.
Welcome to the online home of the Palmer Soil and Water Conservation District!
The Palmer Soil and Water Conservation District was started by local landowners in 1947 and is managed by a volunteer board composed of agricultural producers. It is one of 12 such Districts in Alaska and covers the Matanuska River Watershed area.
